A new branding scheme will soon be seen in and around Chatham.

The brand creation — made possible with the help of grant money — represents implementation of part of a larger growth and renewal plan developed by the collaborative Reimagine Chatham initiative; this plan started developing in 2023. The goal was to find a consistent way to market Chatham and its immediate surrounding areas, centered on a sense of community identity honoring the area’s history, and looking to its future.

Reimagine Chatham project unveils draft of proposed plan

This article ran in Chatham’s local weekly newspaper, the Star-Tribune. Reimagine Chatham appreciates the Tribune’s detailed coverage, which did a fine job in characterizing our efforts to produce a local growth and renewal strategic plan. The meeting resulted in a few comments which will be incorporated in the final report. That report is scheduled to be received on September 30.

Study asks community: What do you want to see in Chatham’s future?

After receiving a recent grant, Chatham organizations are embarking on a process aimed to both grow and renew the small Pittsylvania County town.

But first, they need to find out from the community exactly what that entails.

Those civic groups — Chatham Rotary Foundation, Rotary Club of Chatham and Chatham First — have united to identify priorities and then figure out how to move forward with solutions.
